ERQUAN SPRING its former name was
HUIQUAN SPRING, was excavated at Tang Dynasty. It was hold and deposit
by go through multifarious pine roots and wash straining with the
sandstone, the quality of water is pure sweet. So it was graded as
"the second of the world" by LU YU who is "TEA SAGE"
at Tang Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty poet, LI SHENG called it "wonder
water in the world" Emperor SONG HUI ZHONG ordered to build pavilion
to protect spring, also autographed "YUAN TOU HUO SHUI"
and praised it as the tribute. Song Dynasty's great writer, SU DONG
PO came to taste spring many times out of admiration for its reputation.
At Qing Dynasty, emperor KANG XI and QIAN LONG must come to enjoy
spring everytime they patrol the south, they cared of it very much.
By trickling for over 1000 years, ERQUAN SPRING has ever had the great
reputation. At present, "ER QUAN YING YUE", which is a music
that chat the spring scenery spreads to the world, expresses people's
boundless imagine to happy life. |

WANJUAN-HALL and
XILU BOOK HALL locate in the south hillside of ERQUAN SPRING.These
two buildings are all built to commemorate YOU MAO, an official in
NAN SONG dynasty. WANJUAN-HALL is his library. Now here set up tea
house, visitors can enjoy drinking tea and see the scene of ERQUAN
SPRING. XILU BOOK HALL is his study room which has the carving doors
with classic beauty.

| YILAN-HALL locates in the centre
of ER QUAN SPRING courtyard. It has refined modelling and has veranda
around, visitors can take a rest in veranda, and apreciate the clear
spring. Spring goes through the hall by the hidden ditch in the hall
back, then pass the stong unicorn's mouth to the square pool. Su dong
po has chanted poems about it and which its name come from. |
